Problem 2: Pores

WHAT ARE PORES?

Pores are akin to breathing holes for your skin. They grow in size with age. Like balloons they distend with impurities trapped inside it. Sebum can oxidise and lead to the unsightly blackheads. Hence, by cleaning your pores, they will reduce in size.

WHAT CAUSES PORES?

Pores are caused by 3 main reasons.

  1. First, impurities like dead skin, debris, excess oil is trapped inside and causes it to grow like a balloon.
  2. Second, ageing causes the loss of collagen and elastin, so the pores lose the tautness and distends. Finally environmental factors like smoking and sun exposure speeds up the ageing process via collagen breakdown.
  3. Your genetic makeup. So thank your parents if you have pore-fect skin!

Problem 3: Saggy face

As we age, we start losing collagen in the face. Skin becomes less elastic, ligaments grow lax, soft tissue descents and volume loss occurs in our fat pads and bones. All these contributes to double chin, saggy jawline, deepening of laugh lines, droopy eyelids etc.

What is the hallmark of Ageing?

Ageing can be simplified into the 3Ds.

  1. Descent: The skin loses collagen and elastin, and sags.
  2. Deflation is when the soft tissue layer loses volume, hence flattening the cheeks, liken to a deflated beachball.
  3. Damage from sun exposure leads to fine lines and wrinkles

SKIN AGEING. WHAT HAPPENS AT THE SKIN LAYERS?

  • Epidermis: The skin barrier weakens and loses moisture, and is often dry.
  • Dermis: The skin loses its collagen and elastin in the dermal matrix due to sun damage and ageing.
  • Subcutaneous layer: Volume is lost in the form of fat tissue, causing the redundant skin to sag.

The overall result is SAGGY SKIN.

What are the TREATMENTs available FOR SAGGY SKIN?

NON INVASIVE | NON SURGICAL FACELIFT

1) LIQUID FACELIFT – This involves the use of botulinum toxin as in microbotox or dermalift, or the careful use of fillers, namely Hyaluronic fillers, injected at key areas on your face, to provide the anchor, support and lift.

2) HIFU FACELIFT – Ulthera, HIFU are high focused ultrasound treatments that promote neocollagenesis and skin firming and tightening. This is a needleless, relatively painless technique.

3) Ultra V-Line | V-Shape FACELIFT | 4D-FACELIFT – Which involves the use of Dr Daniel Chang’s trademark T.I.E approach, involving the use of fully absorbable PDO threads to lift and reposition your saggy tissue amongst others.
